The flood in year two did not stop our maths lesson. We moved everything to the hall and had our lesson with the other year two class. What a lot of fun we had!

Our task was to experiment using different resources. We had lots of addition and subtraction number sentences and we used the resources to find out the answers.

We found that some resources were better for the higher numbers and some were better for the lower numbers. Have a look at the pictures.

Hello,

My name is Miss Scruby and I am a student teacher from Northampton University. I have been with year two since the beginning of September and have enjoyed my time so far in this class very much.

This term, the children have been studying ‘Australia’ and this theme has been linked to a variety of subjects. They have created some amazing art pieces such as koala bears, didgeridoos and boomerangs. We have also been studying the states of Australia in our geography lessons. Our maths lessons have consisted of using place value and number lines. We will be moving onto using partitioning this coming week. In literacy, the children have been creating their own story maps, worked on a pursuasve writing piece and are now in the process of innovating the story of ‘The King and The Cockerel’.

All of the children have been working extremely hard these past few weeks, you should all be very proud of their accomplishments.
